Our new brief draws on a six-century-old common law privilege
Twelve professors of law and history retained Kaplan Martin to file an amicus brief in United States v. New York, a case in which the federal government challenges New York’s Protect Our Courts Act and specifically its ban on ICE agents arresting people at New York state courthouses. Our brief explains how the six-century-old common law privilege against arresting persons attending court proceedings supports the New York law.
