Avita Anand

Avita’s practice is focused on high-stakes civil trial litigation and public interest work. Her matters range from representing corporate clients in complex commercial litigation to advocating for individuals who have experienced discrimination and assault.  Avita has helped clients obtain favorable settlements, defended the Metropolitan Transportation Authority from challenges to the groundbreaking congestion pricing program, and drafted appellate briefs on behalf of E. Jean Carroll in her defamation suit against President Donald J. Trump.  

Prior to joining the firm, Avita clerked for the Honorable Donald M. Middlebrooks of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She previously worked as an associate at a Washington D.C. law firm, representing corporate clients in environmental compliance and litigation arising under the Administrative Procedure Act. 

Avita received her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she was a finalist in the Harvard Law Ames Moot Court Competition. While in law school, Avita interned for the Honorable Ketanji Brown Jackson at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office of Environmental Protection Division. She received her B.A., cum laude, from Boston College, where she was a Gabelli Presidential Scholar.
