Second Circuit Affirms $83 Million Judgment in E. Jean Carroll Case

Judges affirm judgment against Donald Trump in E. Jean Carroll case

Yesterday was a momentous day for Kaplan Martin and our client, E. Jean Carroll: a unanimous panel of Second Circuit judges rejected President Trump’s latest efforts to avoid liability for sexually assaulting and defaming Ms. Carroll and affirmed the jury’s award of $83 million in damages. The judges held that “[t]he record in this case supports the district court’s determination that the ‘degree of reprehensibility’ of Mr. Trump’s conduct was remarkably high, perhaps unprecedented.”
